Saloni 2014. Even better than expected: the 53rd edition of the Salone del Mobile has closed its doors.
Once again, Milan has shown itself to be the greatest international showcase for furniture and design, and to know how to focus the world’s attention on the event that has always been the most important in its sector in terms of creativity and innovation.
Excellence wins again, the result of a joint effort aimed at achieving the highest quality, production and research. The numbers of this year’s successful edition are well above expectations: +10% of total visitors and +13% of design and furniture professionals for a total of 357,212 visitors, 311,781 of whom operators.
The value of the work presented at the Salone del Mobile was appreciated by visitors from more than 160 countries, and by the Italian government, represented by Prime Minister Matteo Renzi who visited on 11 April, expressing gratitude for the know-how on display and affirming that this sector is an extraordinary example of a dynamic Italy, capable of overcoming difficulties and relaunching its business culture.
2014 also saw the introduction of a program involving more than 100 students from the city’s design schools located in strategic points around town to welcome visitors and provide information. The project, in collaboration with the City of Milan and the Fashion and Design Commission, showed a city prepared to receive and entertain large numbers of visitors, a positive sign as we approach Expo 2015.
Once again Milan was able to offer beauty, opportunities to exchange ideas, cultural stimuli and industrial excellence which together constitute proof of a healthy and capable chain of production. The legacy of your masters was therefore not only honored, but cultivated and nurtured.
Saloni 2014. La chiusura supera le aspettative
La 53esima edizione del Salone del Mobile ha chiuso i battenti. Ancora una volta Milano ha dimostrato di essere il miglior palcoscenico internazionale dell’arredo e di saper far convergere l’attenzione mondiale sull’evento che da sempre costituisce il più importante punto di riferimento dell’intero settore per creatività e innovazione.
Vince ancora una volta l’eccellenza, frutto di uno sforzo congiunto teso a raggiungere il miglior risultato in termini di qualità, produzione e ricerca. Una tensione che si traduce in numeri e che porta a chiudere questa fortunata edizione con risultati sopra le aspettative: + 10% di affluenze totali e +13% di addetti ai lavori per un totale di 357.212 presenze di cui 311.781 operatori.
Il valore del lavoro presentato dal Salone del Mobile è stato riconosciuto da presenze qualificate provenienti da oltre 160 paesi e dal Governo Italiano, rappresentato da Matteo Renzi in visita venerdi 11 aprile, che ha espresso gratitudine per il saper fare dimostrato e ha sottolineato come questo settore costituisca un esempio straordinario di un’Italia dinamica, capace di rilanciare, superare le difficoltà ed esprimere cultura d’impresa. Il 2014 è anche stato l’anno dell’accoglienza con oltre 100 studenti delle scuole di design dislocati in punti nevralgici della città per dare il benvenuto e fornire informazioni agli ospiti. Il progetto, nato in collaborazione con il Comune di Milano e l’Assessorato alla Moda e Design, ha rivelato una città pronta a ricevere e intrattenere i suoi visitatori in vista di Expo 2015.
Ancora una volta Milano è riuscita a offrire bellezza, spazi di confronto, stimoli culturali e prodotti che hanno dato prova tangibile di una filiera produttiva sana, capace e virtuosa. L’eredità dei nostri maestri, pertanto, non solo è stata onorata ma anche ampiamente coltivata e nutrita.
