EIT Food Accelerator Network to support 40 high impact agri-food start-ups, with in total €180,000 in equity-free cash prizes for top 3 start-ups.
EIT Food announces a new multi-location accelerator programme delivered across Europe, to support high impact food-space start-ups to maximise their success. Over a 4 month acceleration period, start-ups will have access to a buffet of tools, connections, mentors and expertise to help them to succeed. What’s more, the best start-ups from all locations will be awarded €180,000 in equity-free cash prizes.
Held across 4 locations in Germany, Israel, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, the EIT Food Accelerator Network aims to make Europe the go-to innovation hub for the world’s most promising food space start-ups.
At all locations, start-ups will receive;
– Up to €180,000 in equity free cash prizes,
– Access to technology, pilot sites and international markets,
– Coaching and mentorship by leading food sector players and world renowned academics with specialised knowledge and skills to develop food sector innovation expertise,
– Both a broad entrepreneurship curriculum, and a food focused syllabus, to equip food space start-ups with the knowledge they need to succeed,
The EIT Food Accelerator Network has partnered with MassChallenge – a global non-profit start-up accelerator and competition with a focus on early-stage entrepreneurs – to leverage their experience helping high-impact start-ups succeed.
Driven by a consortium of EIT Food partners, representing the very best in academic and industry expertise in the food space, and with funding awarded by EIT, this accelerator network represents another stage in the EIT Foods plan to support business creation in Europe. Agri-food startups can also benefit from other EIT Food Initiatives such as Innovation grants, the RisingFoodStars Association, and EIT Food’s investment fund FoodSparks™.
